My mom's experience at Arbor Village has been top notch! Mom has lived at other independent living places in town and Arbor Village is on par or above the industry standard in many ways in this price range. Mary and Jason have been very easy to communicate with and have explained the services offered. It is not a memory care place or for someone who needs high level hospital care. Mom is thriving in the active and beautiful community that Arbor Village provides. It has recently been remodeled in the latest decor and colors. Every room has a patio or deck and most look out to private open areas with mature trees or shrubbery. Mom loves the kitchenette that has a pony wall to separate it from the living space and HUGE walk in pantry/storage space. The handy man on the staff was quick to help mom make her room a home. When mom was having trouble adjusting on her first day, a friendly staff member introduced her to a group of ladies. To my surprise, mom has already found a good friend and has settled in nicely thanks to the attentive staff. The activity directors are helpful and happy people who have created a fun environment for clients to meet others and join in on daily activities. Monthly calendars and daily activities are posted and given to residents in newsletters. Mom appreciates intercom announcements so that she doesn't miss anything and stays informed of the events. They even have events on the weekends and not every facility does that. Mom is an active senior and loves to join in on games, parties, musical presentations, competitions, movies and happy hour. They are constantly adding new things to accommodate each residents feedback. Residents can earn Arbor Bucks and this encourages participation. Then Arbor Bucks can be exchanged for prizes. Mom loves to go on the bus to go shopping or on an adventure every week. I appreciate that they will take her to appointments if I'm not available. Mom reports that the bus driver is extremely kind and gives compassionate and joyful attention to everyone. Resident services have been excellent. My mom does not need assistance at this time, but we know that service is available when the time comes. She does get in house physical therapy to help with core strength to improve her mobility. Mom looks forward to these sessions and she refers to her PT as her personal trainer. They plan on walking to the nearby grocery store together. Arbor Village washes each resident's clothes separately and returns them neatly folded. They have a weekly room cleaning service. The chef and kitchen staff are friendly and attentive. The lunch in the private dining room that my mom and I enjoyed when we toured was excellent. Every employee at Arbor Village works hard to improve the quality of life of their residents. Recently I hosted a 90th birthday party for mom with the 5 star help of Arbor Village's culinary director and chef Ariel. We gathered on the sunny patio and each guest was given a menu with colored pictures to choose from. Considering the ages of the guests that were very young to " young at heart", we appreciated the colored pictures to choose our menu items. They even have a salad bar available which is not always offered at other places. Ariel stayed ready to help with everything that we needed for the duration of our 3 hour party. Drinks, cups, plates, second servings were offered and delivered promptly and cheerfully. She even helped a guest with programing her phone! I call this a five star experience from top to bottom and mom has memories to last a life time. My mother and I have received exemplary care and communication from the top management and all the staff members at Arbor Village at Hillcrest Senior Living. My mom says that she thinks that people who work at Arbor Village like their jobs because they are happy and collaborate together to make Arbor Village a good experience for all that live there. We are so glad that we found this gem right here in Boise, Idaho.

Mary has been wonderful to work with at Arbor Village. Not only is she patient with my clients but listens to their needs and wants when it comes to Assisted Living options. This community has a wonderful robust activity calendar for their residents and the apartments are nice and spacious. Staff is always welcoming.

It was a difficult choice to make that was made easier by the warm, friendly folks who operate this facility. Having to choose where your loved ones will spend their life outside of caring family on a daily basis isn't an easy, or welcome task. The woman, Mary, who provided us with a tour of the facility was prompt and knowledgeable about any aspect we had questions about. I walked away feeling like we made the right choice. Thank you folks for the continuing care and community you provide for your residents, aka our loved ones.

Having worked in senior housing for over 20 years, Arbor village is a five-star. If I've ever seen one. My mother lives at this community and I frequently have lunch with her and her hilarious friends. Everyone is so happy. The team is cohesive and Jason steers the ship very well. The team often takes pictures of mom having her nails done or participating in an activity. It makes my day.

We've recently moved my beloved Momma into this residential community and they have been nothing short of EXEMPLARY! From the initial tour to the contract signing, to generous assistance in getting her settled into her well adorned and nicely appointed respite room and eventually into her permanent accommodations - the staff's warm, welcoming and genuinely caring attention in all aspects has been just remarkable! Truly... Thank you to Sydney, Jason and all the staff for making this difficult transition SO much more enjoyable and peaceable. Our immense gratitude!

My friend moved in a little over a year ago. He was always taken care of. He was loved by staff, and residents. They always put a smile on his face even on his hard days. He told me he loved arbor, and that remained his forever home until his recent passing. I'd recommend this place to all my family and friends!

They care about you and your loves that move into one of the rooms. The staff help me when I needed to put my mom on hospice and the staff was right there as soon as we needed anything. Staff was very good. Some got very emotional when she passed, and she was only there for a very short time.

I like how it seems to be a whole community versus a skilled nursing or hospital-like facility. They seem to have a variety of activities and are open to suggestions for more. People are moving about throughout the day, so I think it provides a lot of opportunity for interaction with other residents. I really like the director(Jason) and dining staff. The PR gal, [name removed], left about the same time we signed the contract, which was a bummer, but she was a big reason we visited the facility in the first place.

I really like this place for the activities, but the care plans are too vague and for the money, are really expensive for the quality of care you receive. It makes me wonder if it is the CNA staff. The staff do as little as possible. They have to be told every move to make, or the resident does the work the staff is supposed to do. Maybe more training? For a simple Assisted Living with a care plan that includes meals and activities, it is great. I feel the care plan is too expensive for what you get in return. The kitchen is very cheap. The drink machines break down a lot. There is little variety in the meals. The breakfast plates are cold, which makes the meal cold. The popular meals on the menu run out before the meal time ends. So, if the resident comes on the end of the time frame, they are not able to receive the popular entrée. The kitchen staff do not like to use the steam tables because they are hard to clean? The dinner plates are heated. The staff gets a lot of complaints, but do nothing to change. When confronted, the staff has a lot of excuses. In fact, all the staff here is full of excuses when confronted and do nothing to change, or alleviate the problem. The housekeeper does minimum care, spot clean, sweep, and vacuum the middle of the room. She only does more if specifically asked to. The communication with the family is tell them what they want to hear, and change nothing. I have a lot of changes. The biggest one is re-evaluate the budget. Especially on the kitchen and meals. This place is the least expensive place I found, but I guess you get what you pay for. Cheap, especially the staff and care plan. I really like this place for the atmosphere, the service and care, not so much. I would not recommend this place if the resident needed any care above meals and help if you fall. Maybe for medicine regiment.

Arbor Village at Hillcrest is a very nice facility. My loved one is happy there. My wife and I visit her weekly. The facility was renovated, it is very clean. Cost wise, it costs less than most other surrounding facilities. The staff is very attentive for all of the resident's needs. They take pride in their duties and are very positive. The housekeeping is great. Everything is kept very clean. Communication with family members is great, we've had no problems. The meals are pretty good. My loved one states that they have a different variety. I would highly recommend Arbor Village at Hillcrest to all.

And area that Arbor Village at Hillcrest could improve on would be to have more staffing. Also they could have better use of digital environment for the residents. However with those improvements I would recommend Arbor Village at Hillcrest to other families.
